Once you are notified to a threat, our SmartPlug makes it easy to temporarily silence your radar detector. And don't worry, our detectors are smart enough to sense another threat and alert you in time. Even when muted, the meter on the detector will still flash the threat level and strength until you are safely out of range. Get an extra cord for each of your vehicles to make moving the detector between cars easy.

My car is a stick and the cigarette lighter is right next to my hand when I shift gears. This places the SmartPlug for my Beltronics radar detector right next to my hand. This makes hitting the mute button so much easier (and less noticeable) than reaching up to touch the button on the dash mounted unit.

The LED indicator on the plug continues to flash for me so that I know when I am still in the danger zone and when I am safe. Though this light is not as convenient during the day, at night it is great since I can see it easily in my peripheral vision. Whether you need a replacement cord for your radar detector or a second for use in another car I would highly recommend this accessory.
