If you need to safely convert power from AC outlet to DC power, use this handy 12 Volt Adapter. Early model GX65 detectors with serial numbers starting with "BG" require a 12v power source as well as the USB cord to be able to update from Detector Tools. You can power these detectors in your vehicle and then connect to a laptop, or you can use a 12v power adapter in your home or office and connect to a desktop computer.

Ok I know, I live in the stone age! I do not own a laptop so I have to use my home PC to update my Beltronics radar detector with the latest camera data so that I can avoid those annoying speed traps and red light photo ops.

Luckily this 12V cord is a simple fix to my problem and allows me to bring my GX65 radar detector to my PC to do the update. I have seen other adapters like this on the market from generic names but I did not want to try them out and find out they were not as good at changing the high voltage from the wall to the amount my detector needs to operate properly. Operation is simple, plug into the wall and plug your GX65 into that from there you are powered up for updating your unit with the database on the web.
