How to connect a Beltronics GX-65 to Detector Tools using VMWare Fusion for the Mac
The following instructionas are a workaround for Mac users:
Visit the VMWare site (
http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/ ) and download Fusion
which allows you to seamlessly run your favorite Windows applications and devices, on any Intel-based Mac
Make sure that the VMWare Fusion is closed
Double click on your Hard Drive Icon
- Double click the "Users" folder
Double click the "(Your name here)" folder
Double click the "Documents" folder
Double click the "Virtual Machines" folder
When you see your specific Virtual Machine, right click and select, "Show package Contents"
Right click on the file with the .VMX extension. Choose open, using open with->other and then choose "Text Edit" from
the list
Add the following line to the bottom of this file
usb.generic.allowHID="TRUE"
Save the file by selecting, "file" then "save"
Quit "Text Edit"
Start VMWare Fusion
Start your Virtual Machine - using the USB cable, connect your powered up detector to your USB port. After a few seconds you
will see a couple of rectangles added to the "VMWare taskbar" on the bottom right side of the screen
"Hover" the mouse over these rectangles until you see "Connect your Cygnal Integrated Bel GX-65" to
this virtual machine - left click
Left click again to select
You will be shown a message that states "This VM is trying to claim "Cygnal Integrated Bel GX-65" - click
"ok"
You are now ready to use your 9500ci and Escort Detector Tools with your Mac
